What is Coaching?

Coaching is about creating a reflective space for someone to grow, solve problems, and improve their performance through guided conversations and self-discovery.

Successful completion leads to accreditation at Practitioner level, awarded by EMCC, or AC (Fastrack Application).

Target Audience

The only criteria for attendance is that you have held a management position for at least five years.

You do not need to have prior training or accreditation as a coach to attend this programme.

Reasons people attend include

  • To coach formally within your organisation
  • To develop leader as coach skills
  • To upskill, having trained as a coach in the past

Approach

This programme was created in 2020 in response to the shift to online working. Since then it has proven to be extremely popular.

What differentiates this programme?

  • It is renowned for its rigour. Whereas many other coach training programmes focus more on written assignments, our focus is predominantly on practice and reflection.
  • Another differentiator is the focus on psychological processes of relating. The course philosophy is ‘the relational approach‘. A unique personal style is encouraged.
  • The quality of the feedback learners receive on submitted recordings of coaching practice is a programme USP. This ensures a truly transformational journey.

Accreditation

This programme has a dual accreditation with both EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) and AC (the Association for Coaching).

Graduates who wish to be accredited with EMCC will automatically gain that accreditation. Those who wish to be accredited with AC will have access to an accelerated route to accreditation.

Whether you choose EMCC or AC as your professional body, it will be necessary for you to join your preferred organisation in order to obtain accreditation with them.

Online Learning Platform

We use a very user-friendly online learning platform which acts as a secure base for all the work that we do over the 7-month period.

All the handouts contained within the programme will be available here, along with homework assignments and space for community discussion.

The platform acts as a container for the learning journey undertaken by participants. Progress is indicated visually, and overdue tasks are highlighted.

Each module has a Community Discussion area where participants will share resources and reflections. Sessions are also followed up with a fun quiz.
