Use of the Self as Instrument

‘The coach’s experience is always relevant’. This session focuses on using your subjective experience (including transference and countertransference) as source of coaching data. How do you cultivate your capacity to use your self as a ‘resonance chamber’.

Systemic Organisational Constellations

Understanding the principles of systemic organisational constellations and how we can use these in coaching. Looking at Bert Hellinger’s work and discussing his ‘orders’ of ‘place’, ‘time’, ‘belonging’, ‘exchange’; and the importance of ‘acknowledging what is’.

Attachment Styles

Understanding and working with the bonding cycle and attachment patterns.The role of attachment in stress response and self-soothing; helping clients recognise and manage engrained patterns of behaviour.

Working with Sub-personalities

Understanding, identifying and working with sub-personalities. Introducing John Rowan’s work on the plurality of the self. Recognising parts like the “Inner Critic,” “Pleaser”, “Protector,” & “Achiever” and supporting clients to become familiar with them.

Neuroscience

Understanding the basic structure of the brain, including self-regulation exercises using mindfulness and breathing. Eight primary emotions, and working with the SCARF model to support the client gain self-awareness.

Working with ‘difficult personalities’

Recognising when your client is being manipulated by a colleague with a ‘difficult personality’ and a destructive agenda. What are the signs and how can you support such a client? Reference to the dark triad of Narcissism, Machiavellianism and Psychopathy.
